Environment and Atmosphere

Dance is an open, relational and dynamic human activity. During the workshop, we will begin by studying the relationship between the environment external and internal to the body (organism-world). We will then move on to exploring the relationships between the body and the Earth’s mass (weight and support), eventually including the relationships between the joints and directions in space (the creation of choreography in the flow of the present).

Afterwards, we will explore the relationship between ourselves and our dancing, between our choreographies and the presence of an observer, to arrive at the dancer-audience relationship in performance.Creating and receiving movement, and leaving your own choreographic mark on the atmosphere within a space are just some of the themes explored during the composition sessions.

The class is open to anyone wishing to study improvisation as a performing art.
